A member asked:

What emergency contraceptive can i take 5 days after having unprotected sex?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Almost too late, but: The emergency contraceptives in the U.S. Can be taken within 5 days after sex, but sometimes taking it on the 5th day doesn't work as well. One can ask her doctor if a prescription brand might work better on the 5th day. Otherwise, the Plan B one step is available over-the-counter, no prescription needed, no id needed, and no age restrictions. It's best to plan ahead before sex.
