what causes a transparent liquid to get out of wound?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Bret Boyle

Serum : Is the clear or straw colored liquid that naturally drains from most healthy, open wounds. A superficial wound on a swollen leg can also drain lymphatic fluid which is often very clear and thin like water.
