A number of things..: First, was there an injury ? If no, then usually an inflammatory process or infection which is concerning. If injured, a knee is commonly warm and will improve with time. In either case, a hot knee should be seen by a physician soon to be sure it is nothing that required urgent treatment. If not getting better, call your doctor today !
