A member asked:

Can i take loratidine for catarrh?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

It depends!: If the catarrh is indeed caused by allergy then the claritin might help. If it is from another cause, then it is of dubious benefit. Using a first generation antihistamine such as benadryl, (diphenhydramine) clortimeton or atarax, could potentially be more beneficial as they possess some anti-cholinergic properties that could dry out the secretions.
