How long does it take for a brain tumor to appear?

A long time: From the time a brain cancer first starts to the time it becomes large enough to cause symptoms, usually takes years. Brain tumors are typically found when they cause neurologic symptoms.

Years, often: Unfortunately, many patients don't show symptoms and get a diagnosis of a brain tumor until the tumor is quite large, and clearly has been there for many years.
