A member asked:

How long do you need physical therapy for after ankle scope and debridement?

ankle: Length depends on why the surgery was performed and what was discovered at the time of surgery. Perhaps a couple of weeks may help but if no improvement with pt, discontinue and ask for a home program.

Depends: It depends on what exactly is planned for your arthroscopy; joint lining clean up, repair of talar dome lesion, ligament repair, etc. Non weight bearing can be anywhere from just a few days to as long as 6 weeks and PT can vary accordingly. You should discuss the surgical plan with your surgeon as he or she is best suited to fully answer this for you.
