Zoloft (sertraline): Zoloft (sertraline) is one of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, hence produces elevation in serotonin levels which produce reduction in symptoms of depression & anxiety.

no: I don't know if you mean once, by mistake, or regularly.  If you doubled your dose by mistake once, it's unlikely to be harmful, although you might suffer serotonin side-effects (stomach upset, jitteriness, restlessness).  Taking 300 on a regular basis usually does more harm than good.  It's not okay if your doctor didn't prescribe it that way.

Difficult.: Patients are usually on these medications for anxiety/ depression symptoms.  It does alter the brain chemistry, so to allow the body to slowly adapt to not having it is tricky and can take months to years.  You could feel a rebound of the original symptoms and/or other effects if you stop too quick.

Yes but should you?: There is some anecdotal information that some kids in studies have become psychotic so not as same as thought , probably about the same risk as THC, speak to your prescriber , if the zoloft is not sufficient ypu made need an adjustment , optimize one item before adding a 2nd!!!!!
