Zelnorm: Serotonin agonist used for treatment of irritable bowel syndrome & constipation.  It was removed from the market in 2007 due to cardiovascular effects.

Zelnorm: If you're using it for irritable bowel syndrome, there are antispasmadic drugs (dicloclymine, hyoscyamine, peppermint oil), and antidepressents like tcas are also used.  So there a variety of agents and ways to manage ibs out there, it often takes a thorough discussion with your doctor come up with a good plan of action.

why was zelnorm for ibs pulled off market? is linzess or amitiza (lubiprostone) the same?   i'm confused & nervous as i just started taking linzess

IBS: Bental may be effective.  Amitiza (lubiprostone) is for idiopathic constipation and not indicated.  You should see a gastroenterologist for more help.

No: We can only prescribe to those who see us, and we know who they are, know their allergies and are covered by insurances and we know would be sage to do so. Our system had a telemedicine, wherein, our own patients can go on the insurance computer for us and we can give them their medicine but not for consultation as this, too risky for you and for us, medico legally.

any advice on medication for chronic dry eyed?

OTC lubricants: Most dry eye can be handled with over the counter (otc) lubricating drops.  Do not use the ones that say "gets the red out" as these are drying.  Plain eye ointment at night is also helpful.  For persistent eye dryness especially if the vision is impaired, see your ophthalmologist.
