Bites: Helpful OTC regime would include the following: topical hydrocortisone cream and a topical triple antibitotic cream. Aloe can help too. Oral Benadryl and Ibuprofen. If symptoms would worsen with redness and or fever be seen by PCP

a deer fly or yellow fly bit me near my elbow 24 hours ago. it is very swollen, hot and hard. the redness did go down a bit. a skin thermometer is telling me that the bite is 99.1 and on my other arm it says 97.6. is that ok? i took 10mg cetrizine?

Observe: Observe for spreading redness, increased pain or tenderness, or swelling of the foot. These symptoms,if they develop, should be promptly seen by your physician for evaluation and treatment as infection of the bite would then be likely. In view of being somewhat immunocompromised, this is most important.

Mgt: It may be a relapse of the same infection, or a new infection. Please monitor your temperature, drink fluids and rest. For wheezing your PCP may prescribe Albuterol as indicated.

also have a sinus dip over retained babytooth- can that complicate congestion?

Sinus infection?: If the nasal discharge becomes more yellowish as late as the 9th day of a cold, one needs to suspect the presence of sinusitis.  In most cases, the amoxicillin would have started working by now and thus check with your doctor to find out if a change in antibiotic may be needed. In the meanwhile, try saline irrigation on the sinuses.

Some reasons: If your sclera is brown , you need only to worry if you have jaundice which could be sign liver disease , gall bladder disease or excessive breakdown of your red blood cells ( hemolysis ) . I would like you to see the bottom part of your tongue , your urine , your nail . If any of those mentioned are yellow , talk to your doc.
