How are they being: diagnosed? By a doctor with a culture, or just presumptively? If you haven't had a vaginal culture, you should go to your pediatrician to be examined and possibly cultured. If you have already had that done, then you should consider going to a gynecologist...try not to be nervous; it really is not a difficult exam to have. Make sure you go to a gyn who is used to seeing adolescents.

Try a new diet: Some women are just prone to yeast infections.  You need to wear cotton undies, not just cotton in the crotch.  You need to shower after you work out.  There is a diet in a book called the yeast connection which can be  very helpful.  It is perfectly safe to use over the counter anti yeast medication like Monistat whenever you get a yeast infection.  The 7 night works best.

Probably not: Masturbation is not usually associated with yeast infections. However, if you use accessories like vibrators be sure they have been cleaned with a mixture of 50% water and 50% white vinegar.  If you continue to get repeated vaginal yeast infections be sure to consult your MD to determine if you have another health risk for this. Ask your MD for diflucan (fluconazole) each time you are given an antibiotic.

Yeast is not STD: Yeast infections imply something not right in the environment of your skin that keeps getting infected. It is not a std, so not sure why you thought that.  Your family doctor should know that the one day dose is not resolving your problem.

I : I don't think you should be worried.  You were just started on birth control.  It is not uncommon for physicians to recheck you after you have been started on a new medication to see how you are tolerating this and to check your bp.  If you are doing well, you will probably be put on an annual exam cycle. Best wishes.

That is possible.: Yeast infections are due to a fungus called candida which is normally found in the vagina. However, if there is a lack of healthy vaginal bacteria it can lead to overgrowth of yeast. Some causes of overgrowth: antibiotics, ^ estrogen (pregnancy or some birth control pills), malfunctioning immune system, diabetes mellitus as well as friction against vaginal tissues (intercourse) and douching.
