No: Suboxone will help withdrawls from oxycotin. If you are not in withdrawls already and then take suboxone, it will cause what is called precipitated withdrawls. Suboxone is very helpful with relieving withdrawls and cravings for persons with an addiction to opiates such as oxycotin. However to be effective in treating opiate addiction it must be prescibed and monitored by a physician.

Follow order: I am hoping that these are prescribed by a doctor that knows you.  If they are, then follow whatever directions you were given.  If not, you need to find a doc that can manage all of your meds, preferably an addictions or pain management specialist.

Tricky.: I see this a lot. Mostly what people refer to as withdrawal is not nausea/sweats/disabling cramps/diarrhea but very very slight versions of these with a total intolerance of any side effects &amp; with cravings. I do a bumpy taper causing some mild/mod withdrawal so people get used to some mild symptoms early in the taper so at the end, they have smaller ones and feel ok about it.

1 week: Symptoms usually peak around day 3, then subside until sometimes 1 week. In terms of substance, it is difficult to say. Withdrawing from a small amount of heroin is much easier than a huge dose of methadone. I would say the dose is more important than the type of substance.

Unlikely to show: Unless urine test specifically looks for buprenorphine, it's unlikely to detect that drug, which would be in very low concentration by then. It's still best to be honest with your physician when he asks about drug intake.

Hello. : Hello. Recommend that you be seen by a provider or a clinic that specializes in detoxification/ drug addiction to be assessed for Methadone use.  There is also a nada protocol for using ear accupuncture to work with additctions. It is done daily (but Methadone would usually be dispensed daily) and is reported to be quite remarkable when used in conjunction a 12 step program, desire to quit and therapy. On the other hand, if you have panic attacks and feel depressed, you may wish to see a psychiatrist.

Properly: Taper down under the care of a clinician who specializes in Suboxone treatment.  They should be certified in the use of Suboxone in order to prescribe it.  Make sure stopping is the appropriate treatment decision as well, before doing it.  Stopping incorrectly can make it more likely to resume using harmful drugs for some folks.

Luckily it is not medically dangerous in most cases unlike withdrawal from other drugs like benzodiazepines (valium, xanax) and alcohol.
