No: In general by itself no, but if you have a medical problem like lupus and steroids control it you may have a greater chance of getting pregnant and having a successful pregnancy . It is not an iud.

Probably not: There is no evidence that prednisone reduces the effectiveness of birth control. Taking prednisone while on birth control can increase likelihood and severity of side effects from the prednisone. If you think you may be pregnant, you should do a pregnancy test. It is important to know for sure. If there is a possibility of pregnancy, you should be taking Folic acid to help prevent birth defects.
