mt doctor put me on citalopram for anxiety. is there bad side affects and will this medication have long term affects like. heart issues or liver or kidney. please confirm how good this medication is on the body?

talkto prescrber  : Citalopram use can cause heart rhythm changes called QT prolongation or Torsade de Pointes, which can cause sudden death. This is at higher doses, other than that there are no reported long term concerns for effects on the body. You should always speak to your prescriber about any effect of concern. Best Wishes

please help
in light of my liver inflammation i had to discontinue ssri medication immediately. at first i could control it, but now with any movement i get brain shocks that take over my whole body. any ideas on how i can get back control w/out meds?

Brain shocks: The ‘brain shocks’ are most likely withdrawal effects of sudden termination of an SSRI.  As such they will go away without any intervention except giving it time.  They are weird and disconcerting but not dangerous.  I know of no intervention which works besides restarting an SSRI which does not appear to be safe for you.  Best of luck!

Depends: There is no single medication that does everything. All BP meds lower BP about 10 points or so with individual differences. The best one for you depends on what other health issues you may have: kidney disease? Angina? Congestive heart failure?  Diabetes? Prostate enlargement? There are different best BP meds for each.

Numerous: It would depend on the symptoms.  Antiviral medicine may be used to treat infection (hepatitis b or c).  If cirrhosis and liver failure are present, there are many other medicines used to treat the symptoms of fluid overload, confusion (encephalopathy), risk of infection. Etc.

Depends.: Generally, depending on the cause of liver cirrhosis, life expectancy from the time it is diagnosed and treated will vary between 21 to 24 years , depending on the presence of other cop-morbid illnesses  and how intensive the treatment is.

No: There are no therapies proven to improve cirrhosis.  There are many therapies available to improve and control symptoms.  If you have infectious hepatitis, treatment for this may improve disease a bit.

It is harmless!: Liver cysts are rarely symptomatic. Since they are benign they rarely require treatment. If it becomes very large and causes symptoms, then surgical intervention may be needed but it must be done with due caution and avoided as long as possible.

Hepatitis B, right?: If you're a chronic carrier, it's wise to get under the care of a specialist who can keep it at bay, though right now it's not curable. No over-the-counter stuff will help. Forget 'pop claims'; even milk thistle won't cure you. Best wishes.
