No, but...: If  you take your birth control pill reliably, then you won't ovulate. It is unlikely that you will become pregnant. However, if you are not sure, you may take Plan B. One side effect of Plan B plus your birth control pill may be nausea due to the estrogen content of both pills. Hope this helps you!

2 weeks to 3 months: Most women ovulate soon after stopping the pill. Pills reduce fsh from the pituitary, limiting ovulation. After stopping pills, the pituitary gradually recovers. Some women ovulate within 2 weeks, others require 3 months or more. Women can try to conceive immediately after stopping the pill. If periods do not resume within 3 months, ask your doctor for advice.

Cycle days: In most i give Clomid (clomiphene) cycle days 5-9 with day one being first day of menses.  I like to tell my patients to start their ovulation prediction kits around day 13 or 14 and use them for 5-7 days.  Remember, you ovulate about 24 hours after a positive ovulation test, which measures your surge of lh (leutenizing hormone).

Chance is low: It is best to take the birth control pill at about the same time each day.  If the timing is off by some hours the chance of ovulation is very low.  If a pill is 12-24 hrs late there is a small chance of ovulation.  The chance increases if the pill is 1 or 2 or 3 days late.  Take the pill at about the same time to be most effective, but don't worry if some hours off.

i had sex yesterday around 12-1am, i took contraplanii first pill at 1:30pm, and then the second pill after 12hrs. i am three days ahead of my ovulation day. would contraplanii work? do i need to take two pills tomorrow too as a safety measure?

: It should work if you are correct in predicting the ovulating time. You do not need further dose at this point.

Most likely not: Progesterone will not improve ovulation. The use of Progesterone supplementation after ovulation is indicated for a small selected group of patients but for most women with regular periods Progesterone is not indicated. The use of Progesterone for one week after ovulation should not affect your next period.

Almost none: There is almost no risk of getting pregnant if you have been taking Birth Control Pills and pull out method.It makes the risk almost none

Things to ponder: The erect penis is secreting sperm continuously during sex. It only takes one to get pregnant. Your risk is less that if a full "load" was left, but don't ever think you are not at risk. The choice will depend on whether or not pregnancy would be okay at this point. Morning after pills are most effective when taken soon after exposure.
