Oxygen and CO2: Oxygen is needed for your cells to live, and when they burn calories using oxygen they generate co2. Too much co2 is toxic to the brain and it must be removed from the blood. The lungs exhale co2 (like a car's exhaust pipe), and take in oxygen with each breath, lungs transfer oxygen to red blood cells that transport it to your cells.

Biased answer: Coming from the lung department, I may be a bit biased, but there's not much you can do without oxygen (O2). Consider having poor lungs - depending on the type of lung impairment one has, the O2 may not be passed to the blood efficiently or the O2 might not be able to get into all of your air sacs as they should.  O2 is needed to generate enough ATP, the fuel your body needs for...well, everything

All: All house hold chemicals have potential harm to some people.  The us government require a special label explaining how each product is to be used and what precautions to take when using.  Never take for granted using a simple benign looking product without following the directions.  Fatal combination of products can occur easily if you don't read carefully what the label says!  read label!

Falling on chest?: Seriously, propane or other combustion in an enclosed space can cause carbon monoxide buildup and death. Electric is thought to dry the air ; annoy nasal passages/upper airways. Practically speaking, all are ok as long as used properly, may consider moisturizing air if dry ; be sure ventilated if small / tight space.

Through the brain: Alcohol is a central nervous system depressant, which can affect the centers in the brain that regulate respiration. Consequently, breathing may slow and not keep up with demand, especially when asleep.  Also, alcohol lowers your defenses against aspiration, contributing to pneumonia. Lastly, alcohol can make sleep apnea worse making it further difficult to breathe.

Crud in chest: You mean phlegm in your chest.You need to stop smoking if you smoke
if you have nasal allergies to treat with antohistamines and/or nasal steroids
if you have asthma you need long term bronchdilaters with inhaled steroids and you can try over the counter musinex as well
we need more history to advice what applies to you
see your doctor if in doubt.

Bronchitis: The bronchi are tubes which sprout off from the trachea and carry air into bronchioles and then into the alveolar spaces of the lung.  They are an integral part of the respiratory tract and when inflamed it is called bronchitis.
