Occipital neuralgia: The greater and lesser occipital nerves live in the back of the head on both sides. The lesser nerve runs towards your ear and the greater nerve runs to top of back of your head. These occipital nerves can be aggravated without any trauma. Tilting head back can cause dizziness if these nerves are aggravated. 7 days or oral steroid or 5 days of Toradol may knock out this irritation to these nerves.

Many possibilities: Most people get a headache at some time, such as from colds, infections, lack of sleep, too much driving, long hours on the computer, stress at work, etc... Over-the-counter options include Tylenol, Motrin or Advil, Aleve, Excedrin, and their generic brands. A bad or increasing headache; recurrent, persistent, or weird headache; or with other worrisome symptoms needs a doctor's exam.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated.

Get it checked out.: You've got to see a doctor and get this evaluated asap!  you might have just pulled a few muscles back there and bruised yourself but you also might have done something to your neck vertebrae and so be one jolt away from a serious neurological injury.  So go see your doctor fast, get examined, and make sure it isn't serious.  Good luck!

Fatigue : It can be a postural fatigue from sleeping or while working that affected some nerves. If it's not getting any better, see your physician.

Unhappy ending?: Best answer I can come up with is that somehow your upper cervical spine was extended and pressure is put on the greater and lesser occipital nerves.  Which innervate the lower occiput and mid occiput (back of the head).  Try to keep your head in a neutral position or move it from side to side and dance cheek to cheek with the massage table.

Your symptoms might be caused by tensing or clenching of facial muscles resulting in nerve impingement but other causes of these parasthesiae include deficiencies of magnesium,calcium,potassium or even hyperventilating. Headache: The best way to establish a correct diagnosis and treatment is to have your doctor obtain a detailed history and physical examination. Possibilities are too numerous. Migraines presents with mainly one sided headache, moderately severe, with light sensitivity or nausea, throbbing at times, worsened by movements and relieved by resting. Tension type headaches are like band like pressure sensation.
