Likely: How were the pills stored? What is the expiration date? If the medication is still within the expiration date, it is okay to take it. If it past the expiry date, taking it will not do harm but it may not have full potency.

Not ideal: But the circumstances will dictate the answer. Long term side effects are the limiting factors and are serious. Usually needed for connective tissue/rheumatologic disorders. Many other options are out there & should be tried. May be able to try a few joint steroid injection yearly to minimize systemic side effects seen much more frequently from oral formulations.

Uti: Have a simple urine test to find out if you have a uti. Prednisone can lower your immunity and increase susceptibilty to infections.

It depends: How long have you had the cough?  How disruptive is it?  Are you coughing up yellow sputum?  Do you smoke?

You may need antibiotics.   Another modality to try is to put one bottle of hydrogen peroxide into a humidifier, and two bottles (same size) of water.  That gives a 1% aerosolized solution of peroxide.  Kills virus and bacteria on contact, and breaks down into water and oxygen.
