Brown period means old blood from the previous period making it's way out cleaning the vagina provided that you do not have any other  symptoms such as pain, itching , inflammation of the vagina , etc. suggesting a genital tract infection. Your gyn can  regulate .

In sexually active women, STDs like chlamydia, gonorrhea, or trichomonas are frequent causes, although gonorrhea and chlamydia are uncommon at your age (30). Maybe it's nothing, but best see doctor. Better safe than sorry!
