it was red in the corner of my eye and now i noticed yellow after the redness went away. what may have caused it? i don't drink much water.

Where: Where do you mean.  On the lid skin or on the eye ball?   If it's on the eye ball it could be from sun damage.   When it's inflame then it turns red other wise it's yellowish raised tissue.  Wear UV protected sun glasses and keep your eye wet.

How long?: If it is blood red, this could be a busted blood vessel and should resolve over 7-10 days.

Could be allergic: If the crusting increases, or the eye is painful and draining, it may be a pink eye.
only bacterial conjunctivitis needs treatment. You could try an OTC product called Zaditor (ketotifen) eye drops.
If any worse it should be evaluated by a doctor.

See eye physician: This could be any number of things.  Eczema causes redness of lids.  Angular blepharitis can cause redness of outside corners of eyes.  Also allergies, blepharitis may cause more diffuse redness of lid margins.

Possible infection: An infection called conjunctivitis may be one cause. Monitor her temperature, encourage fluids and gently rinse eyes with sterile saline.

Please see your: doctor or an eye doctor. Although usually scratches of the cornea or infections of the eye are painful, it is not worth taking a chance with your eyes/vision.

Eye: Could be infected stye, blephritis, conjunctivitis or some thing more significant.

Leave them alone.: Your description suggests that irritation from frequent pulling the area is the cause. If you stop touching the area, it will likely recover by itself in a week or two. But if problem persists, you should consult your doctor.

Usually not: Pink eye in general means that you have a severe virus that causes significant itchiness. Most people however with a little bit of eye redness have an unstable tear film from blepharitis. redness at the corner of the outside of my eyes  not at tear ducts. my allergist noticed it yesterday  but i blew it off. now wondering what cause is?

Transient or ...: If the redness goes away in a few days, I won't be worrying over it. If it is persistent but does not itchy or hurt, I won't lose sleep over it either.  Do your eyes tear frequently?
