Temporary irritation: This maybe related to some nonspecific irritation of your external genitalia, perhaps caused by the menstrual blood itself. Make sure you follow your usual procedure during your period. If it will not go away, or recurs you have to see your gyn.

It sounds like a: urinary tract infection.. See your Dr. and get checked. Drink lots of fluids..

Pain: This may be due to a vaginal or urinary infection.  You should see your physician to have a urine test if this continues.

External irritation: You can get urinary symptoms after a period if you used sanitary napkins and have any chafing of the vulva, or just form the ph change in the vagina associated with bleeding, which can sometimes allow yeast to grow for a few days until your body gets back to normal--this can cause burning of the vulva if urine hits it.  You also need to make sure you do not have lesions (sores) "down there!

Get checked: You may have an infection or other issue. If this is outside of how you typically feel, you should get checked out.

Missed period: Reasons for missed/late periods: low body weight, obesity, marked weight ^ or v, over-exercise, endurance athletics, breast-feeding, ^ stress, illness, eating disorders (bulimia or anorexia), anovulatory cycle (no egg released), travel, hormone irregularities, drug use, meds (i.e., birth control) or medical problems (i.e. PCOS). #1 reason is pregnancy.

UTI: Period time is just a hassle - it may have nothing to do with urinary burning (never normal). Usually a UTI causes burning, pain, sex pain, frequency, and urgency. You may just be catching it early and the period is coincidence. The worst case scenario would be that you have an open sore that hurts (herpes), but my money is on peeing in a cup, diagnosing uti, and taking antibiotics to cure it.

Burning: It sounds like you may have a UTI (urinary tract infection). Buy a home test strip at the pharmacy to check for leukocytes, then consult a doctor.

Burning: Could be a bladder infection have your provider run a urinalysis to be sure.

No: But need more information.  Pain on urination may be from the urethra if you have an inflammatory condition in the bladder or urethra.  Or it may be because your labia are irritated and the urine passing over an inflamed area creates pain.  In either event the best thing to do is to see a doctor and be examined.  Hope this goes away soon.
