Ovulation: A tubal ligation only blocks your fallopian tubes. Your should still have your periods because your ovaries as well as your uterus continue to function normally after a tubal ligation.

A perfect time: Getting a tubal ligation at menses is a perfect time to do so as it eliminates any concerns about a possible pregnancy.

Probably: It will probably take a while for it all to get out of your system.How long? That probably varies, But the best sign is development regular periods (or getting pregnant). So decide if you want to get pregnant or not and act accordingly. If not, get on an alternate form of birth control toute suite (that's "pronto" for those of you in the West...).

Likely: Not pregnant. Ovulation irregularity, medication effects,  insulin resistance/polycystic ovarian syndrome, could be cause. See your doctor for testing.

i had a tubal ligation 10/23/04 during my c-section well for the past 60days i have had 3 periods with heavy bleeding from start to finish with extreme ongoing pain that makes me curl in a ball which still doesn't ease the pain and after it all done bleed

See an OB/GYN: Go back and discuss with the doctor who performed your surgery.  This is not normal and should be investigated further.

Not necessarily: You would have no need for birth control if your tubes are blocked. Hormonals could be used to stop your menses altogether, as a convenience, or a touch up ablation might finish the job.I would discuss this with the gyn who did the procedure to see what might be best for your situation.

Irregular periods are one of the most common problems Obgyns treat.: If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections &  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  there are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Menses after tubal: A tubal doesn't change your ovaries or the behavior of your uterine lining which is what controls your period. For many who have been on birth control in the past, the pills regulated your periods. After a tubal, you stop taking birth control pills and your cycles become what they always would have been off of birth control.

Tubal Ligation: One may or may not achieve lighter cycles with a tubal ligation.  Whether or not you've had a tubal, you can achieve lighter cycles by having your doctor prescribe Lysteda the first 5 days of your period or by having your gynecologist perform an outpatient procedure call endometrial ablation i.e.: novasure, thermachoice.

Hormonal balance: And not ovulating causing irregular bleeding. Give it a while to straighten out, the if it doesn't you should seek care.
