Leg edema: Causes could be venous insufficiency (leaking leg veins), possible prior blood clots  called deep vein thrombosis, heart, liver, or kidney problems. You need to see a local doctor, keep your legs elevated, avoid salt intake, and don't sit for long periods of time.

Edema: The swelling of your feet and legs could be likely due to other causes rather than fibromyalgia. Fluid retention in your lower legs can be due to poor venous circulation, lymphatic drainage issues or simply because your muscles are not moving enough to achieve a good circulation. Try getting up and  walking around every hour at work. It is important to get another heart assessment with your doctor

Nonsense: Are loads of comments online regarding many subjects, and all sorts of self-styled experts.  Ms in no way causes lymphedema, but some of the drugs used in ms can promote foot swelling.  Am more concerned about your kidney function, and wonder if you actually have lupus or another collagen vascular disease, not ms, and if so, kidney issues could be causing your fluid retention.  Get second opinion.

Some : Some women are very prone to water retention.  You can try reducing the sodium in your diet, and walking 1-3 miles per day which may help.  If the swelling persists, you may need to have basic laboratory studies performed, and have your doctor check your circulation.

Sitting all day: can cause dependent edema which is a venous issue. Try moving your foot up and down while sitting to make the calf muscle contract and squeeze the veins. This will help venous return. Take a walk at lunch and consider support hose. Watch your salt intake. If it worsens or has pain develop, see a doctor

Mirtazapine ; edema: The pdr lists the risk of peripheral edema at 2%. Good luck and best wishes.Generalized edema was 1%.
