why do i have what looks like broken blood vessels on my shoulders from lifting a heavy object?

Bruise: A broken blood vessel causes bruising - extravasation of blood (blood coming out of vessel). Lifting heavy objects serves a stress factor for vessels as it causes pressure to build up in capillaries and if it is high enough to break the vessel wall, it causes blood to come out and build up under the skin causing ecchimosis or what we know as bruising.

Usually nothing: Most shoulder dislocations are not associated with any significant nerve or artery damage. Once the shoulder is relocated the tissues should heal.

Purple bruise : A few things I have picked up over the years is to correlate the things a patient says with an examination, especially when there are so many possible perspectives of a patient's description. This can be several things, here are a few : blood vessel problem or blood problem. We can relate these to many many conditions.

No: We don't see blood vessels in the iris break in these scenarios, however it is very common to  get subconjunctival hemorrhages where a blood vessel on the white of your eye breaks, causing an appearance of a red eye.

Confusion or repeated episodes of vomiting in the hours after trauma deserve a look over by the dr.Kids under 8 can be allowed to nap on their regular schedule, with you checking in on occasion.They wake up and barf with a change of status.Any change in personality deserves a visit.

Go : Go to the hospital immediately. You seen to have a pretty bad infection. You could be in danger of loosing your foot or leg especially if you are diabetic. Act immediately you are playing with fire.

Yes: It is easy to get a specific ultrasound of your legs to find out if you have venous disease, reflux. This backward flow of blood caused by heredity  and  prolonged sitting, standing, lifting etc- is weak vein valves that allows blood to pool in your legs and cause damage like pigmentation. Look up phlebology.Org and find a vein specialist in your area for diagnosis and treatment.
