Gradual immunity: Simply: the goal of allergy injections (immunotherapy) is to build up a gradual and safe immunity to a particular allergen. The bodies defense/allergy/inflammatory system is "good cop/bad cop." the good cop fights off infection for us and causes allergy symptoms. The bad cop can shut down our body with inflammation/swelling/edema. Allergy shots - good cop does his job - bad cop is not a problem.

We do not know: Some patients get lifelong relief from allergy shots, while others never seem to be able to stop them.  Most patients get a least 10 years of relief from 3-5 years of shots.

Immune system: It is the immune system, and it is genetically determined, we are all born with the propensity to be allergic to something at some point in our lives, which might not come at all, may be because we don't become exposed to what we would react to, anyways, our immune sydtems can tolerate certain exposures to certain limits, people differ in that threshold, hence react differently,

Decongestants arr usually helpful to relieve symptoms.

Eustachian tube: The ear is connected to the nose through a tube called the eustachian tube that helps equalize the pressure in the ear with the outside world. This is why your ears pop in an airplane. In nasal allergies, the area around the tube is inflamed, and it doesn't work as well, leading to fluid in the ear, or possibly ear infections.

Eustachian tube dysf: Inflammation of the nasal pharyngeal area due to environmental allergies can stuff up the eustachian tube, which is the connection tube between your inner ear and the outside world. When the inner ear cannot communicate with the outside air, there would be a difference in pressure between the 2 areas causing your ear to pop and have pressure.
