can a doctor prescribe a painkiller for an extremely painful ingrown hair that keeps you from walking? i have seen a doctor about it,but was only prescribed an antibiotic which has not helped

Yes: But, a prescription pain med is not usually necessary for an ingrown hair. The antibiotic should help, but may take time. Meanwhile, warm compresses and tylenol or ibuprofen should cover most of the discomfort.

Treatment is ok: Loss of lordosis in cervical spine (neck)usually due to muscle spasm.  In addition to meds prescribed, heat, gentle range of motion exercises for neck and shoulders will help.  If pain was preceded by trauma and doesn't 
look for neck and shoulder range of motion exercises on the web.Resolve over the next week, needs further evaluation.

i have bartholin's cysts n m 8 months pregnant.doctor has prescribed me antibiotics n painkillers.  it it good for me to take these drugs?

Yes: If you have an abscess it is necessary that you take the drugs and have the abscess drained. Otherwise the infection can spread potentially making you very sick, causing premature labor, and infecting the baby. The pain killers should be taken sparingly as needed. If they are just cysts and aren't infected you should not need antibiotics or pain killers. Hope this helps.

Viruses stink!: As long as it helps some and the virus is being treated as well as possible (non-symptomatic only) this might be as good as appropriate. I don't know anyone who feels good during a virus - not terrible, if they're lucky but not good. Use heat/cool, gentle comforts (food, activities) to find your best feelings. Drink water, rest, relax, entertain yourself as well as you can. Best!

Nutritional deficien: Many vitamin deficiencies can lead to headaches--especially magnesium, vitamin b12, riboflavin. Stress can cause headaches.  Grinding your teeth is another cause of headaches. Not getting enough sleep is another issue. Food allergies and intolerances are a factor. The pain can be referred from your neck. See your doctor.

Because they care : In simple terms, it has to do with pros and cons. Opiates are effective and safe when used and prescribed correctly. But even short-term use can lead to addiction (dependance)...When that happens, you are then inflicted by a new chronic brain disease, probably far worse than your original problem. Sounds like you have good doctors and should stick with them.
