i managed to separate my skin from my finger when cutting the grass with scissors, leaving a 1cm piece of bare flesh. the friction from cutting my caused the skin on my thumb to break away from the flesh. how do i help it heal? its very painful.

This can certainly be a food, but it could be a new seasoning in a food or a food he just became allergic too. It can also be seen as a stage in some illnesses or bug bites. Skin lotions seldom help diverse rashes. Diphenhydramine (Benedryl) is OTC in the US &amp; has good anti-itch benefits.

It is very possible that your child had a bite of a different type of event mosquitoes but there are other causes of hands that swell.  These could be toxic bug bites or contact allergy.
