Probably nothing: The kind of bleeding that you're having is very representative of a gradual shedding of the endometrial lining--sometimes characterized as a prolonged "withdrawal" bleeding.  A great way to maximize your chances in a situation like this (e.g. irregular withdrawal bleeding) is to utilize an OTC (over the counter) ovulation kit to determine when you're most fertile. Pregnancy Test: When ever you see a bleeding episode that is unusual it is best to do a pregnancy test. Brownish discharge mid cycle may be ovulation. Brownish discharge on day 21 or day 22  may be related to implantation bleeding. Please do a pregnancy test.

Last menstrual?: When was your last menstrual period? If you have had 1 positive urine pregnancy test, then you will need a confirmation test (blood or urine) with the nearest Obstetrician.  Miscarriages are quite common and abnormal vaginal bleeding may be a sign.

Hard to guess: If a woman had her NORMAL menstrual period 2 weeks ago, then she was not pregnant last week. If she was not pregnant, she could not miscarry. If she thinks she was actually pregnant, then doing a home urine pregnancy test the week after starting a "strange or abnormal period," or 3 weeks after having sex, should give a positive test result. If miscarried last week, result might be negative by now.

Vaginal bleeding?: The color of menstrual blood is usually not clinically significant. Dark brown blood is usually older, deoxygenated blood being cleaned from the uterus.
