Have her see GYN MD: The best answer, not having seen this white patch at examination, is to have her see a GYN MD who can examine the area and make a determination as well as treat it if necessary.

Sexually transmitted: Possible sti. Herpes simplex virus has a burning and stinging sensation. It usually has a blister like appearance.  Please see your gynecologist for a pap and exam, and use condoms to prevent additional exposure.

Unlikely...: At your age, but could be lots of different issues, including stds, especially in setting of unprotected intercourse. See md, get examined, use condoms.

Yeast infection: Sounds like an infection with Candida albicans. See your physician

Possible yeast: It is impossible to know what the discharge might be without an examination and test. Usually they can test for that in the office and under a microscope. Thick white discharge oftentimes turns out to be yeast and can be treated. If this doesn't resolve then see your physician.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What you described suggests genital herpes.  It would be prudent to see your doctor for evaluation and treatment. Note that herpes is treatable. 
Get HPV vaccine.

Well herpes is a: group of blisters, not a dry patch. But when the herpes dries it can be a dry patch, but you would have had blisters, pain or itching at site. I would try a lubricant to reduce dryness, and see dermatologist or gynecologist when you get home if irritation persists.

Probably benign: If the patches are not raised and asymptomatic, they may be benign discolorations. Pl see the attached links for significant vulvar lesions needing medical evaluation. If still doubtful, get it checked with your PMD. Feel better!

i noticed some itching in my vagina area. once i investigated further, i noticed a patch of skin under my vaginal opening that looks similar to an eczema patch. there is no discharge other than normal vaginal cleansing discharge and no smell either?

: Tentatively, use warm sitz bath 2-3 times a day for a couple days and observe the symptoms. Avoid sex if possible in the mean time. If new symptoms, such as abnormal discharge, dysuria or the lesion expands, you should see a GYN by then.
