most discharge or secretions that are noted by a woman are usually physiologic or normal. For example, around ovulation or mid cycle, it tends to be clear & thin; before your period you may notice it as more whitish & thick. If it has a slight color, that often is ok; provided you have no associated odor, irritation, burning, itching or persistence. If so, contact your gyn for an exam.

It happens sometimes: Many women have occasional variation of their mucus discharge, some spotting between periods, a heavier or lighter period, a longer or shorter period, or even a missed period. Having one or two of these symptoms doesn’t necessarily mean there is a medical problem, but a visit to a primary care or Ob-Gyn doctor is a good idea if the discharge continues to look different than usual, or smells badly.

Might be UTI: Pain after urination can be some type of infection.  If it is persistent, it is best to have it checked out.  

A white discharge can be normal but it can also be an infection.  Since it is associated with pain, it should be evaluated.

The medication of choice is from a class of drugs called the azoles; these include Butoconazole (gynazole-1), Clotrimazole (gyne-lotrimin), Miconazole (monistat 3) and terconazole (terazol 3). These meds are available by prescription or otc.

Yeast or Bacteria: Either one can cause your symptoms & should be treated to avoid pprom (preterm premature rupture of membranes) or preterm labor (ptl). Call your OB to get treated or go to your delivery unit for an exam. Take care.
