Lobe enlarged: This should be of no significance if your thyroid hormone levels are all normal. There are no suspicious findings of benign or malignant growths. If you have further concerns a thyroidologist or endocrinologist would be best qualified to evaluate and advise you.

Can mean many things: A lumpy thyroid gland may have a nodule or nodules that can either be benign or cancer.  Frequently when you have multiple lumps in the thyroid it is due to what is known as a multinodular goiter, which is benign, that is not cancer.  However, the usual approach is to get an ultrasound of the thyroid and evaluate the nodule or nodules.  A biopsy may be necessary.

In both of these cases your immune system attacks your thyroid and tries to kill it, because it thinks it is foreign, like a virus.  However in graves disease the antibodies that attack the thyroid actually stimulate receptors that make it grow and produce too much thyroid hormone.  In thyroiditis the immune cells infiltrate the thyroid.
