Albuterol: One can O.D. on any medication. If your breathing is bad enough that you are concerned you are OVERUSING your rescue inhaler, then it is time to see a doctor.

They are similar.: Albuterol the medication in ventolin comes in several forms, a syrup, pills, a puffer inhaler and a liquid that goes in a nebulizer for breathing treatments.  Salbutamol is a long acting type of bronchodilator similar to albuterol, but instead of lasting 3-4 hrs, it lasts 12 hours.  Both medications are used to treat asthma.

I think you nailed: the problem...using her inhaler only "sometimes". Asthma is a chronic condition with acute exacerbations. There are medications for maintenance of clear, open airways &amp; medicines to use when airway spasm &amp; inflammation occur. Your pediatrician may chose to manage your daughter's asthma or refer her to a Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist or Pediatric Pulmonologist, if if proves difficult to control.

Could be inhaler: It could be just side effects from the inhaler.  If it only happens after you use the inhaler, than this is what i would assume.  If the side effects don't go away within a few minutes, then i would consult with your doctor.

OK: The active ingredient is salbutamol which is very good for acute episodes of wheezing.  If you are having to use this inhaler often, then i would recommend you visit your physician to possibly be placed on a maintenance inhaler as well.

Asthmalin=salbutamol: You didn't mention where you live but i suspect you don't live in the states as salbutamol is not sold here (we call it albuterol). It is a short-acting beta agonist and is intended as a rescue medication. If you need to use it regularly, then it's time to ask for prevention medications such as inhaled corticosteroids +/- long acting beta agonists. Tell your doc how often you're using salbutamol.
