Not dry for sure!: The description of your mucus should be typical for cervical mucus that may become abundant during and shortly after ovulation.

Not yet...: Passage of ano-rectal mucous in the absence of other symptoms, is usually a benign symptom seen in patients with ibs (irritable bowel syndrome).  If you are having severe diarrhea, anorectal pain or blood in the stools you should see your doctor.

i've had a funky cold(see previous question)and in the morning the roof of my mouth is coated in mucus--some of it is dried. i wiped some out with some toilet paper, and it came back with blood on it.

Sorry: Questions are not linked. If your nose is really dry it can cause some blood. It could drip down into your throat. Also wiping the top of your roof of your mouth can cause disruption of the tissue and a bit of blood too. I would not worry too much about a little dried blood!

Mucus may also be produced in response to partial obstruction, chronic constipation, rectal dysfunction, infection, & even from secretory villous tumors of the rectum. At the very least, discuss your new finding with your doctor who knows you best & can advise what treatment &/or testing is needed.

See doctor: If it is a recurrent problem then you should probably see a doctor for evaluation of stools for infection. This is especially true if you have been sick with diarrhea or if you have been on antibiotics recently. If it is a one time occurrence and you have not been sick then you can probably ignore it.
