: More info still needed. What symptoms did you have? What were you tested for? Also "tetra shot" makes no sense:  maybe ceftriaxone? Return with more details when you have your test results. Better yet, ask the doctor or clinic where you were treated.

if treated for syphilis in january with 2 penicillin shots, can i still take doxycycline for 2 weeks, due to experiencing still some symptoms?

: There is no need. It is not possible your continuing symptoms are caused by syphilis this long after penicillin. Assuming you have not been reexposed to syphilis, something else is the cause of your symptoms. Do not take the doxycycline without first discussing with the doctor or clinic where your syphilis was greated. Good luck.

GC and Chlamydia: Your doctor did right to treat you for both. The discharge can take two to seven days to fully dissipate. The medications sound like you were treated appropriately.

Microbial resistance: You should not continue to have a discharge two weeks after therapy unless you have been reinfected or the organism is resistant to both antibiotics already used.

No: Doxycycline is an antibiotic that is used to treat some illnesses,  such as lyme disease that are  caused by tick bites. If a patient has a tick bite in an area of the country where lyme disease is common, some doctors have  chosen to prescribe Doxycycline to possibly prevent lyme disease.

If : If your symptoms are still present, then you will need to see you doctor. You may be dealing with a different infection that requires another antibiotic. You should have been given an injection as well (antibiotic called ceftriaxone) to cover a possible gonorrhea infection.

Probably yes...: Apparently, you got gi-upset as its side effect; but a duration of 3-45 minutes should be enough for absorption for most of oral drugs. Did you see the remnant of pills in the vomitus? Meanwhile, the pace of possible clinical resolution of chlamydia-related symptoms may help tell the story. But for worse, it's always possible to try other drugs with less side effects as needed. Work with doctor...

im being treated with a 30 day dose of doxycycline to treat syphilis. i had accidentally missed an entire day (2 doses) and have resumed on schedule the following day. is there anything to worry about for that lapse in treatment?

: Ideally, treatment would be every day just as prescribed. It is not possible to guage risk based on a 1 day missed dose. The problem is that currently circulating strains of Syphilis hav recently developed resistance to many medications. Your best bet to eradicate any infection is to stick to the regimen closely and if it still shows no improvement or returns, to treat with a stronger med.
