Wheezing 8 months: Likely a viral infection called bronchiolitis. This usually doesn't respond to medications and the care is symptomatic. Nasal suction, elevation, and avoid dry and hot environments. If your baby is working hard to breath or is feeding poorly,  have her/him seen. There are other causes of wheezing such as reflux or structural problems which should be ruled out. All the best.

Persistant asthma: Guidelines say start w/ low dose inhaled steroid and as needed rescue inhaler (albuterol). Combo inhaler (advair symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) dulera) might be overkill, but could start w them and ease back when better. Singular less attractive unless allergy a problem too. Should get PFT to assess lung function, and follow up to check progress. Allergy testing for root causes.
