Depends on details: The pancreas gland makes insulin, which is required because insulin makes blood sugar go into cells (blood sugar is the fuel for cells). In Type 2 diabetes, a person eats too much and puts lots of sugar into his blood daily. As time goes by, he overworks his pancreas by demanding lots of insulin from the gland. If he stops his bad habits early in Type 2 diabetes, his pancreas might not "burn out."

If adult onset or type ii starting with oral agents Glyburide or Glipizide as first step, followed by the addtion of metformin if no control.  Diet and exercise are an important component of therapy.  And then there are some new agents that can be added or used if the older agents are unsuccessful.

Yes: Numerous herbs show evidence of benefit in diabetes.  Those most widely used include gymnema sylvestre, cinnamon, bilberry, fenugreek seeds & momordica charantia.  Aloe vera, ginseng, pterocarpus marsupium & coccina indica are also useful. Vitamins & minerals including Alpha lipoic acid, chromium & vandium are also beneficial. No cure: There is no cure for diabetes, only control.  Amzylite is being removed from the shelves from most countries that currently have the product as there are false statements about a cure for diabetes.  I do not think it is available in the us.

See doctor: You can be tested by your doctor.  There are many health problems related to diabetes, especially if uncontrolled.

Not really.: Stevia is a plant extract which is an artificial sweetener (food additive, not a medication).  Using this to sweeten foods and drinks instead of sugar will make for less of a glucose elevation, but it is not an actual treatment.  A 'treatment' for diabetes is a medication that actively lowers the blood sugar level.
