Anal sex: You can do anything you want with your husband provided you both consent to it. However why would want to do anal sex? This is not physiologic or anatomic. These structures were by design not made to be used together. They are designed for different purposes.

YES: When tissue(s) not used to trauma even if mild still REPETITIVE  they SWELL and this is a reaction to the trauma (much like a bruise or muscle aches after extreme exercise) swell and HURT. A week is not an unusual amount of time for RECOVERY! If you are still uncomfortable in another week see your Gynecologist for a check-up!~

Agree with Dr.K.: If you must have anal sex trying using a liberal amount of a water based jelly like K-Y jelly. You do risk damaging the anal sphincter and developing fecal incontinence.

Daddy's baby: Let's go with the medical answer first.  Aside from tears to perineum or other issues, intercourse isn't medically contraindicated.  But you just had a baby . . . why don't you rest, have your husband rub your feet, and then after you go to sleep he can go 'entertain' himself until it's time to feed HIS baby.  Just an opinion . . .

Not recommended: Anal sex can disrupt your anal sphincter and is generally not recommended by gynecologists. Is there a reason why you would not use your vagina?  Intercourse in pregnancy is usually OK as long as you do not have a problem with Pre-term labor, or placenta problems.

Too much friction: The anus is not intended to have a penis in it. It does not produce any significant amount of lubrication. The dry friction rubbing can cause irritation to the skin on the penis. Further more, if there are any nicks or cuts on the penis, stool from your anus can cause severe irritation/burning of the skin. Have him see his doctor. Next time, use lots of lubrication, go slow and finish quickly.
