Hard to avoid: It is hard to avoid papilloma virus infection ( warts ), fungual infections, as always  tub must be scrubbed, washed with disinfectant  after each use and avoiding injrury to prevent bug entering body even from a small abrasion.

Clean: With regular soap and water and dry real well. A wart is a virus so always wear something in shower etc. You may not be susceptible to it.

Various people's laundry can be washed together (but separate the lights and darks, and know which fabrics should use hot, warm, or cool water. Otherwise, people may get upset if their clothes get messed up in the laundry). Laundered clothes are clean and have no HPV worries.

Right now: If you have active warts and a new bump on the skin of the toe, chances are you have another wart. Look closely..Do skin lines go through it or around it? If the latter, it's a wart. I don't recommend duct tape. The reason it reacts with warts is the adhesive was not meant for skin contact and causes an allergic reaction. Thus can be severe in some individals. See a podiatrist.
