Yes: Any time you have numbness, something has happened to the sensory nerve carrying information to your brain. Very rarely it is due to damage in the brain itself. Too much alcohol can cause numbing of the face nerves. If it persists you must see a neurologist.

BEll's Palsy: Front of face got hit. Right side of face looks like Bell's palsy from irritated nerve. Will my face go back to normal? ANS: Bell's is from paralyzed nerve not irritated. Would be unusual from being hit in front. So if you try to wrinkle your forehead does it do it? Can do video consult to help now. Here till 4 AM PCT.

No: A pinched nerve in the neck would not cause leg symptoms. Spinal cord compression may.

Your body mass index at 27.1 is a tad overweight but not by much.

tingly numb feeling one side of face and tongue all afternoon. had a ct and mri of head 2 weeks ago = normal. causes please. should i worry? nerve?

Anxiety: Anxiety and panic disorders can cause numbness in the face. A normal MRI of the brain excludes a variety causes including a tumor, sinusitis, multiple sclerosis, or other intracranial structural lesion. However, should the symptoms worsen then a neurologist should evaluate you. An MRI of the cervical spine and a lumbar puncture may be included in further studies to determine the cause.

Left sided pain: The medications that you are taking can cause difficulty in thinking, speaking, and memory.  It is important to review the proper dosages and timing of the medications with your prescribing physician to avoid an overdose. I am not sure what the cause of the left sided numbness, poor function, and spasms. This may be due to a previous stroke or a neck problem with spinal cord injury.

what nerve runs from back of skull into left eye, down left side of face, into left shoulder, arm and fingers. not pain more  numb/tickle sensation?

None does all this: The occipital nerve emanates at the back of the neck, travels up the back of the skull above the ear to the side of the skull. The supraorbital nerve is above the eye. The facial nerve doesn't extend to the shoulder or arm or fingers. Sensation in the arm and hand stems from a nerve root at the neck or from the brain(cortex) itself. A neurologist can advise you best.

dull sensory pain/tingling in left side of face and head after horizontally-impacted wisdom tooth extraction. had lingual nerve damage. any medication?

Contact ENT: Get back with your oral surgeon. An ENT consult  (ear , nose and throat MD) might help.

i have atypical trigeminal neuralgia.   left side of face is numb & sore.
especially eye & inside mouth.   am scheduled to have a nerve block nxt week but wondering if that is a good idea since i am already numb won't that procedure make me more numb?

Legitimate concerns: Your concerns would be best addressed by the doc performing procedure. Timing will be critical as well for the procedure as you suggested.

what does it mean if your right side of face is puffier than left?

Accepted Answer

If new: it means you were exposed to something (sun, chemical) to which you are allergic more on one side than the other.  You can also affect the puffiness of your face by sleeping on it wrong.  To stay symmetric, sleep with your head straight up towards ceiling (so lying on your back)
