what is with all the teen questions about the size of their penises?

Good question: It probably has to do more with culture and mis-information than anything else.  Small penises enjoy sex, large penises enjoy sex, or is it the partner who is complaining?  Varies from individual to individual.  It is usually not size, but technique that causes satisfaction.  Society is a bit extroverted on sex and too much narcissism abounds.  Take what you have, be responsible and enjoy sex!

Normal variation: There is a great deal of variation among folks and body parts, including the penis.  Please ask your doc to examine you to put your mind at ease and then love all that you are.   Don't use penis as a measure of self-worth.   Weight can swallow up the penis and it can look smaller externally.  I don't  know of any studies but i'm sure someone does. Peace and good health.

Yes: It is within the normal range. He also has some time for further growth. His obesity likely makes the proportion seem smaller. I would worry more &amp; do something about his weight &amp; not about his penis.

Pre or postpubertal?: Assuming you are either going thru puberty or already have done so. After puberty                                                                     normal length of erect penis is 5 - 8 inches. Normal width of erect penis can vary from 3/4 - 2 inches. Many boys haven't finished going thru puberty so the penis can continue to grow somewhat. Majority of penises seen in porno movies r normally long.

Not form, function: If you can urinate normally out of it and generate/maintain an erection you would be best served by devoting your concerns to other pursuits.
