Well...: Good is a relative thing.  As long as you are not allergic to the material contacts are made of, and you take appropriate measures to clean and care for your lenses, contacts can be worn daily without concern.  They are very, very safe.

No: Contacts are supported on a tear film (they do not actually touch the eye)  so if your tears are deficient, wearing the contacts may be uncomfortable but the contacts will not cause dryness.

Overuse and abuse: Contact lenses, properly fit, can be harmless and helpful.  But instructions must be followed on wear schedule, replacement schedule, and cleaning schedule.  If these are violated, then the chance for infection and irritation are increased.  If the eye gets red always remove the lens and also if the vision drops or the eye feels bad.

Swimming with lens: Do not swim with contact lenses in your eyes. Doing so puts you at risk for infection that can be severe with resulting vision loss. For example, acanthamoeba is found even in chlorinated pools and can cause a severe keratitis (corneal infection).
