Good!: Homogeneous parenchyma is just a fancy way for the person reading the report to say the thyroid appears to be similar in texture and color throughout the entire thyroid. This is a good thing as it implies a uniform thyroid without areas of irregularity or inflammation and most people reading these reports will tend to err on the side of caution &amp; at least say there is some irregularity. Thyroid nodules: Did they measure the largest nodules? Thyroid nodules are fairly common, and the vast majority of them are not cancerous, but if one is above 1 cm, a biopsy may be considered (there's some variation in how thyroid nodules are managed). Some can give you hyperthyroidism. I'd speak with your doctor or an endocrinologist about further steps.

Possibly: These are unlikely to cause shortness of breath. Most commonly these nodules are evidence of a prior infection such as histoplasmosis, especially if you have resided in the ohio river valley, or less likely tuberculosis. These are known as granulomas. 
However, other causes are also possible. Your doctor that referred you for the scan should be able to determine if you need more tests.
