Many tests: There are a variety of neuropsychological tests and each measures something different but all measure some aspect of brain functioning.  They may be called for to assess memory or some aspect of brain function after trauma, stroke or some other head injury.  It can also be called for when assessing adhd.  Useful in helping clarify diagnoses and determine an area of the brain that may be affected.

Neurophyschological: Hello. Neuropsychological tests are tasks used to measure a function linked to the brain (or its' tracts), comparing the result to a general population sample (control sample). So there is a lot of tests, each of them used to measure different functions of the brain (for example: memory, attention, coordination, intelligence or language). Some common are: mini mental state, CASI, cognistat, PADDS.

Assesses functions: These are not IQ tests. These are designed to look at how a person processes information presented to the brain. They are given in an individual setting by a psychologist using specialized materials.

Testing: may lead to further testing scheduled at another time. NP testing is incredibly extensive and will not miss baseline deficits. Sleep deprivation, anxiety, distraction, intercurrent illness, or intoxication, could alter your performance. You are very unlikely to fool the testing. Fluctuating deficits may not be captured AND NP testers are well aware of "trouble thinking" that comes and goes.

Not normal, but: an expected aspect of schizoaffective disorder. Cognitive problems often improved with overall treatment. You probably don't need separate neuropsychological testing, unless there is a question of a possible other cause for the cognitive problems.

NO: Adult add is a misunderstood problem and one that does not have singular  therapeutic treatment. Giving a problem a name is easy ... Getting you balance, peace and quite it another. You can begin by starting a wellness program of diet, exercise, sleep and vits/minerals.
