Fits of rage?: I'm not sure what you're specifically experiencing, but "fits of rage" means episodes of uncontrollable anger -- often with outbursts of verbal or physical aggression as well.  This can happen with little seeming provocation.  People having  bipolar d/o, using drugs like meth and even alcohol, and other issues may have this.  Treatment & outcome depends on full evaluation by physician.

It is associated with the fight-or-flight response and often activated in response to an external cue,  it may be treated by learning relaxation methods, cogntive therapy and medications mood stabillizers, antipsychotics and sometimes benzodiazepan.  Sometimes the use of time out and reward consequence system.

There are many reasons why a person would be displaying rage and there would have to be a diagnostic interview to determine where the rage originates from and why.
One diagnosis would be "intermittent explosive disorder."
