However, this is not a treatment for ascites. Paracentesis is used to help diagnose the cause of ascites, or to relieve the pressure from a buildup of a large amount of fluid.

Depends: It would depend on the cause of ascities and the amount of ascites. Most people with ascites have other serious illness and sucking it in the least to their concerns.
For good health -Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, low fat milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.
