Depends: Isolated atrophy (with no other findings on the scan) in a young person could be a sign of something serious, like a toxic exposure or inflammatory condition, and is seen in dementia. In much older adult patients this may be an expected (normal) finding.

Fatty liver likely: Lots of substances may "infiltrate" the liver & increase echogenicity (sound waves bounce off liver better). Fatty liver is most common--due to diabetes, high cholesterol, obesity, drinking too much alcohol. Lose weight & stop alcohol consumption if these are your problems. Fatty liver with abnormal liver functions (blood tests) is however considerably more concerning than just an echogenic liver.

Possibilities: It means your thyroid is not as smooth as it should be. This could be normal or indicates autoimmune thyroid disease. Since your TSH is normal then no hurry but on the next blood test ask your doc to also check your thyroid antibodies.

Foreign language!: I'm guessing you are referring to a mammogram, but i could be totally wrong. "parenchyma" is the "representative tissue, " i.e., the tissue that normally lives in the area being studied. Fibroglandular refer to tissue made up of glands (milk glands) and fiber. This could as easily have been stated as "patient has dense breast tissue." that would be common in a 40-year-old woman. Lgromkomd.

Fibroglandular: parenchyma is normal breast tissue.  Since a mammogram is a two dimensional representation of a three dimensional object, the occasional overlap of normal tissue 'superimposed' on normal tissue behind it, or in front of it, sometimes looks like an abnormality.Extra views are then necessary to spread out the tissue and prove that it is normal.Only normal tissue will spread out.  Real masses persist
