See neurologist: It depends which finger and what brings the tingling on...If it is the 2nd, 3rd digit numbness, it may be carpal tunnel or ulanr neuropathy if the 4th and fifth...
It may come from a pinched nerve in the neck if you shooting pains from the neck down to a specific area.
Or it may be from a more spreadout proces involving damage to the nerve endings.
Best to see neurologist.

Possibly: Seems more likely that you had a contact mode of infection rather than a spread by your bloodstream. You should see a doctor for an appropriate workup possibly to include blood cultures and a culture and sensitivity for the new "pussing".

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you. You may watch and wait. If the symptom spreads to other fingers, or lasts more than two weeks, see a doctor. You may take multiple vitamin supplement available over the counter. If you are overweight, lose weight.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Neurologic: Your description sounds like a nerve injury coming from your neck.  In cervical radiculopathy the nerve root gets entrapped and causes dysfunction of the nerve and can lead to pain, paresthesias, numbness, or weakness.

In carpal tunnel syndrome, the median nerve gets entrapped at the wrist and leads to symptoms in the hands but not usually much up the arm.  I hope this helps.

Could be heart: At 50yo he should be checked out by a medical professional. He may need a stress test and blood pressure/cholesterol determination. Less dangerous is the possibility that he is holding his shoulder too tight from stress and it is pinching the nerves to the armpit. But, better safe than sorry. He might need to be on a daily aspirin. It's time to have this checked out.

Sounds: Suspicious, because gold allergies are rare, but nickel is a common cause of allergies. Maybe there can be contaminants trapped, so soak it in a ring cleaner, and have him wash carefully. Look for redness. Allergy, infection and 7 year itch all possibilities.

See neurologist : This could be an essential tremor. You are too young to have Parkinson disease however please get a complete neurological exam. Any family history of tremors. Is it there when the hand is resting. Does it disappear when you try to pick up an object such as a pencil?
