Stay slender: Groin hernias are not injuries. They are a result of an anatomic defect, or wear and tear over years.  Therefore, there is really no way to prevent them, except for one thing: avoid excessive weight gain. Obese people have far more hernias then the rest of us.

Depends: Has high chances of getting incarcerated , ideal way is to get it repaired , is a low risk out patient procedure, and avoid risk.

Small: While any hernia can incarcerate (get stuck) or strangulate (loose it's blood supply) at any time, the chance of it happening in a two week period is pretty small. If you have a very painful lump that does not push back in, go to your nearest emergency room.

Depends a lot: on size of hernia and strength of your native tissue.  Five weeks is usually enough time for initial healing.  Ask your surgeon for specific advice, but you can probably start slowly.
