Doubtful: This is very common. When we are in a deep sleep, our muscles are essentially paralyzed and if you are sleeping on your side, saliva will sometimes pool in the mouth and leak out. Although not the most attractive thing in the world it is completely normal in my opinion.

Whether you should increase your protein intake is controversial  i say yes, but there have been vegetarian body builders.
