Thus stroke could be a likely mechanism for the vertigo symptoms. Suggest intensely study my answers for more insight. Good luck.

The eyes are hardwired into your balance system and by stimulating your balance system by putting you into different positions and monitoring eye motion we can determine a lot about what's going on with your balance system. Most ear nose and throat doctors have this test available in their offices.

Little "crystals" in your ear that get lose and irritate sensors in your balance organ in your ear. We all have those crystals.  A neurologist or ear-nose-throat doctor can re-position them with a harmless physical maneuver.

Inner ear: True vertigo is caused by an inner ear problem and usually starts quickly and ends pretty quickly the fact that this lasted several hours is a little bit more concerning and I would see your doctor.I do not think it has anything to do with your reflux
