Yes it can.: That can happen especially if the patient becomes immunocompromised. A f​ollowing outbreak would normally be less severe, but it depends on the degree of immunocompromise.

can having hsv-1 cause blisters on feet? one foot? or are the blisters caused by my shoes?

Not herpes: Although it is possible to get herpes lesions on other parts of the body (called herpes gladiatorum), it is rare and is v. unlikely in your case. Most probably you're body is reacting to the ill-fitting shoes. I would definitely stop wearing the shoes entirely and try to minimize any activity that makes the feet hurt. You need to rest and recover first. Keep off the feet and protect the blisters.

: No, HSV1 (or any herpes virus) has no role in breast cancer. Or any other cancer.

Herpes virus: Herpes virus type 1 (hsv 1) causes upper respiratory infections, usually manifest as "cold sores", which can spread to the skin. Herpes virus type 2 is a sexually transmitted infection that occurs only in the genital region usually manifesting as a single tender blister or a group (cluster) of tender vesicles on top of red inflammed skin. Hsv1 does not lead to hsv2 infections. Only sex does.

NO: Not life threatening in any way, you just must be aware and advise your partners accordingly.

my husband & i were both diagnosed with hsv 1 he has never had an outbreak  had one genitally.  is there a way to tell which of us is was the carrier?

No, not really: Hsv 1 is considered universally present, in most of the adult population, so there isn't much desire or need to test it further. In a research setting, each person (of a couple) would have to have his/her hsv-1 strain (sub-typed) identified, etc., etc...  But, it gets too scientific, too complicated.

thank for your help. my igg hsv-1 level was 38.10 post 5.5 week encounter with a woman who is positive. we had oralsex & kissing. is this normal after a one time encounter. other forums have told me with those numbers ive had it for a while?

: Either way, it makes no difference. Vast majority of adults carry HSV 1 and the usually the only problem it causes is cold sores.

No difference: There is no difference at all. Genital HSV2 infection usually causes more frequent outbreaks and asymptomatic viral shedding than either oral or genital HSV1, and therefore genital HSV2 is more frequently transmitted to exposed persons. But there are no differences in the symptoms, appearance of lesions, or severity of outbreaks from either virus, whether oral or genital.
